Sunglasses are the accessory category most distorted by branding. A $90 pair from a fast-fashion label and a $500 pair from a heritage eyewear house can use lenses ground in the same Italian factories, but the frame material, hinge construction, and lens coatings sit on opposite ends of the spectrum. The price gap is real, but it is also the easiest accessory category to get wrong if you walk in chasing a logo rather than a shape that suits your face. This is the working shortlist for 2026, and the construction tells worth knowing before you commit.

The shape conversation is mostly settled this year. Wide rectangles and oversized rounds dominated 2024 and 2025; in 2026 the silhouette has narrowed back toward the medium-sized acetate frames that anchored late-90s and early-2000s eyewear. The thinking lines up with our quiet luxury roundup: less logo, more proportion. The frame is meant to read as a feature of the face, not a label on it.
